Steve Glovinsky

Mentor & Co-founder

Steve introduced the very first knowledge-sharing networks in the UN system in 1999 with the United Nations Development Programme, which eventually grew to encompass two-thirds of the organization’s professional staff located in 136 countries.  In 2005 he worked for the United Nations Country Team in India to create the highly acclaimed “Solution Exchange” initiative, which over the next five years organized 15,000 professionals into 12 thematic Communities (Water, Gender, Maternal and Child Health etc.) to share their knowledge and experience.  Steve continued his work building knowledge networks, eventually creating another 12 in Asia, the Pacific, Africa and Europe.  His most recent effort, in 2020, brought him back to India (virtually) with a “COVID Action Community,” helping support national COVID-19 mitigation efforts.

He has helped several UN entities prepare knowledge management strategies, and has published on the topic.  He also advises international organizations and developing country governments facing development challenges, based on his 45 years of experience in this field primarily as a UNDP official (see his LinkedIn profile).

Steve is a Harvard graduate, and races sailboats in the summer season.  He lives in New York, USA.
